Well, What do we have here? An FBI agent Sarah Ashburn and Detective Shannon Mullens, who each operate on antagonistic ideologies of law enforcement. Ashburn operates on discipline while Mullens operates on hostility. They cross each other's paths when they are on a hunt for a faceless mastermind known as Larkin. They do not appreciate each other and often end up on the wrong end. While Mullens throws all sorts of curses around, Ashburn restrains herself from doing so as much as she can.
This movie focuses on women and their roles in law enforcement, their personal life, and even misogyny. These two characters start off as an odd couple, but soon learn more about each other and see how to change that for the better. Ashburn is a nerdy woman, who looks like she has no life to enjoy. Mullens, on the other hand, looks more like the type who is not afraid to express herself. On their assignment they get into scuffles and frolics, all to give us something to laugh about. Then they run into the DEA, one of whose agent is an albino. Now this albino relents at nothing when it comes to chastising women; he shows his disdain towards them when the two almost blunder the case. He revs it up without pausing or choking, delivering so much humor that it is difficult to contain oneself. He himself is dealt with albino prejudice as a counterattack from Mullens.
Taking down Larkin would have been a tedious task if not for some middlemen. Mullens shows no letting up in ranting and cursing like a mentally challenged patient. It is annoying to some, hilarious to others. Marlon Wayans makes it into this movie, but does not make a fool of himself as a black stereotype from previous movies like Chris Tucker; all he does is show professional approach, and keep his cool while tying to be amicable. He leaves all that comical aura to the other guys.
You may love it or hate it, but this crime-themed action comedy must keep you occupied. It is a blast. It is a fun-filled ride you cannot afford to miss. Watch it and you will rate it favorably. 6.8/10
